The James B. and Lois R. Archer Charitable Foundation was created with the goal of making a positive impact on the lives of those in need, particularly children. We are passionate about supporting nonprofit organizations that understand their communities and work tirelessly to fulfill their charitable and educational missions.
Through our grants, we hope to empower these organizations to continue their important work and help build brighter futures for the youth and aging population they serve. Founders

The decision to establish the James B. and Lois R. Archer Charitable Foundation was driven by the desire to ensure that their philanthropic efforts would continue long after their time. They envisioned a Foundation that would be guided and stewarded by their family members and trusted advisors, preserving their charitable legacy and expanding the impact of their giving for generations to come. Through this Foundation, the Archers have been able to support numerous causes and organizations, providing meaningful support to initiatives that improve the lives of children, senior citizens, and others in need.
By creating the Foundation, the Archers aimed to formalize their giving in a way that would ensure its longevity and effectiveness. It is their hope that the Foundation will serve as a catalyst for positive change, inspiring others to join in their mission of giving back and making the world a better place for future generations. Through thoughtful guidance and collaboration with partners, the Archers continue to fulfill their commitment to philanthropy, leaving a legacy that will benefit countless lives for years to come.
Board of Directors

James B. Archer
Chairman
Mr. Archer has over 45 years of experience in the energy industry, including oil and gas production, oil and gas production chemicals, natural gas processing and mid-stream transportation. Mr. Archer is recognized as a leader in the oil and gas industry in technology for foam assisted lift and other gas enhancement techniques in both conventional and unconventional oil and gas plays.
In 1993, Mr. Archer founded Multi-Chem, which he started in his garage in Midland, Texas, and under his leadership he rapidly grew Multi-Chem into the third largest specialty production chemical company in the world before selling it to Halliburton in 2011 and then serving on Halliburton’s executive leadership team until 2014. While at Halliburton, Mr. Archer played a significant role in Multi-Chem’s worldwide expansion and development strategy.
In 2011, Mr. Archer founded JBA Diversified Holdings, LLC, a company that manages his personal investments and his wide-ranging portfolio companies and start-up ventures. Some of these current and past ventures have included KJ Energy, PT Midstream, MV2 Entertainment, The JL Bar Ranch, Resort, Spa & Airport, JL Bar Ranch Operations, Rio Bonito Construction, JL Bar Kimble County Investments, and JL Bar Kimble County Properties.
Mr. Archer is a dedicated supporter of Values Based Leadership and each of his businesses are operated to adhere to their Mission, Vision & Values. He is active in the community and also serves on numerous philanthropic and civic boards in various leadership roles.
Mr. Archer holds dual associate degrees in Management and Marketing from Midland College and continued his education in Business Administration at the University of Texas Permian Basin. He is a member of the American Petroleum Institute, Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), and the National Association of Corrosion Engineers.

Lois R. Archer
Director
Ms. Lois R. Archer has been an integral part of the Archer family’s business ventures since co-founding Multi-Chem Group, LLC in 1993 alongside her husband, James. Throughout her tenure at Multi-Chem, she played a variety of key roles, contributing to the company’s growth and success. Her most notable work included designing and decorating over 90 of the company’s locations across the globe, helping to create environments that fostered both productivity and company culture. Ms. Archer remained with Multi-Chem until its acquisition by Halliburton in 2011.
Beyond her professional achievements, Ms. Archer is deeply passionate about supporting programs and initiatives that focus on the well-being of children and the aging population. She has dedicated much of her time and resources to causes that benefit these vulnerable groups, believing strongly in the importance of providing support and care for those in need.
Active in her community, Ms. Archer plays an important role in the West Texas area, where she is involved with the Sonora Women’s Club and serves on the Board of Directors of West Texas Rehabilitation Center. Through these organizations, she works to improve the quality of life for those within her local community, promoting health, wellness, and education.
When not engaged in her philanthropic endeavors or community activities, Ms. Archer devotes her time to her family and friends, valuing the relationships that form the foundation of her life. Her commitment to both her personal and professional responsibilities reflects her strong belief in the importance of giving back and building strong, supportive networks within her community.

Marcus Lopez
Executive Director
Mr. Lopez has served as the Executive Director of the Archer Foundation since its inception in the fall of 2011. In this role, he has been instrumental in guiding the Foundation’s strategic direction and overseeing its philanthropic initiatives, ensuring that the vision and goals set by James and Lois Archer are realized through impactful, long-term giving. His deep understanding of the Archer family’s values and goals has allowed him to effectively lead the Foundation in fulfilling its mission to support charitable causes, particularly those benefiting children and the aging population.
Before transitioning to the role of Executive Director, Mr. Lopez had a long-standing relationship with Multi-Chem. Between 2003 and 2009, he served as outside counsel for the company, providing legal guidance and support during a critical period of growth. In 2009, Mr. Lopez joined Multi-Chem’s executive team as Vice President and General Counsel. In this capacity, he was responsible for overseeing the company’s legal affairs across 17 countries, ensuring compliance, managing risk, and guiding the company through complex legal challenges. His leadership and expertise in this area contributed significantly to the company’s success, which culminated in the sale of Multi-Chem to Halliburton in October 2011.
Prior to his tenure at Multi-Chem, Mr. Lopez was a partner at the law firm Jackson Walker, LLP, where he honed his expertise in mergers and acquisitions, finance and international law. He also served as a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation where he gained invaluable experience white collar and public corruption investigations. This diverse background in both private legal practice and federal service has equipped him with a unique perspective on business, legal affairs, and strategic decision-making.
In addition to his role with the Archer Foundation, Mr. Lopez also serves as Executive Vice President and General Counsel for JBA Diversified Holdings, LLC and the Archers’ various business ventures.
Mr. Lopez received his B.A. degree from Texas A&M University in 1993 and his J.D. degree from the University of Texas School of Law in 1996.
